“We’re just a couple-a girls… hangin out… without our shirts on… in our little yarn-y skirts and our pigtails n stuff…” they seem to say.
This is one of my favorite stores on Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice. I first discovered it once upon a First Friday. It’s the day of the month when the shops and galleries stay open late, showcase new goods and you can pop by like a friendly neighbor and eat and drink for (almost) free.
Surfing Cowboys kind of embodies the vintage surfer beach vibe that Venice exudes out its ears. A slightly glamorized take on barefoot bikini culture (and mid-century modern furniture – they know what they’re working with and it’s priced exactly so). I am a total fan. I wanna spend every day riding my beach cruiser (sans helmet!) to the nearest indie coffee shop, surfboard in tow, catchin some rays in my Daisy Dukes and stringy top. In reality, I’d be concerned a car would hit me while I’m not wearing a helmet and that I were prematurely aging from my “glow” and also, how do you carry coffee AND a surfboard and also steer a bicycle?!
Beach people of Venice, you are like magical unicorns in your own private sunkissed universe.
Go to this shop. And pick me up somethin nice. A vintage seashell will do.
(For your morning coffee…)

Hey Donna! Thanks so much for checking me out on here! I look forward to stopping by again soon and meeting you in person!
With all the doggone snow we have gotten recently I am stuck indoors, fortunately there is the internet, thanks for giving me something to do. :)
